net neutrality!

The fundamental issue with net neutrality is that the internet should be open to all with no content restrictions, and whether or not the government should regulate what goes on with the internet. Smaller companies and websites would have a harder time getting their information out for others to see if there was no net neutrality.

Of the major companies out there that are for net neutrality, Google is a major supporter, as well as other people you wouldn't expect to have such a strong opinion, such as the musician, Moby. Companies such as Google aren't as concerned with their world known .com empires, but are actually more concerned with smaller, less known companies struggling to "make it" online. "Here we have a system that works fine, why do we want to change anything?" states Moby, who is in favor of net neutrality because he believes that it already is doing a fine job as is.


I think that net neutrality is an important thing to have because it helps with keeping information accessible to everyone and lets everyone have a say, not just the thoughts of big companies. The internet shouldn't be something you have to have status or money to use, it should be something that everyone is accessible to.
